Week 8: #18 Social Networking: Making friends in the comfort of your own home

Social networking is something that I am very familiar with. When I was in the military I was encouraged by some of my friends to create a Myspace account. It has been at least two years since I created one, and it has served it's usefulness many times over.

I mostly use it to keep in contact with people that are either still in the service or who have moved on with their lives and lead hectic schedules. Through this website I have found out of weddings, funerals, child births, and even friends moving.

I also tried http://www.ning.com/ and I liked what I had seen as well; joining a specific community that appeals to your needs. I have heard of Facebook, but it didn't appeal to me as much. Another popular website is bebo.com, and it is similar to myspace.
